New York, NY
RN; Oncology

I am so proud to be a nurse. People are always amazed and impressed when I tell them what I do — it’s a very honorable profession. I feel so blessed every morning when I wake up because I know I will help someone each day. In my job, I face new challenges and have victories every day. A great day for me is seeing patients leave the hospital with a smile on their face — it makes me feel like I actually took part in their recovery. I have seen people beat cancer and it’s exhilarating to know that I helped them. I have been a nurse for six years and wouldn’t trade nursing for any other job in the world. I enjoy what I do and I love the people with whom I work. In addition to taking care of people and making a difference, I benefit from a completely flexible schedule — I go to school full-time and work full-time. It’s great.
